Attaa Initiative was established in September 2018 and is sponsored by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to spread digital awareness among Arab users.
As the first qualitative voluntary initiative, Attaa Digital aims to encourage greater Arab participation by empowering Arabic content creators with the tools they need to produce enriching technical Arabic content. Attaa Digital offers logistic services, upskilling, support in accelerating the process of digital transformation, help for non-profit sectors as well as encouraging volunteer work and launching the first Arab volunteer platform focused on uploading technical Arabic content.
So far, more than 22 million people have benefited from the initiative with over 300 experts, more than 2100 programs, and in excess of 300 ambassadors and partners and over 293,000 members. Attaa Digital’s programs include a partnership with The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, content libraries, camps, and Your Digital Path.
Attaa Digital was awarded the ITU’s World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prize in 2020 for Cultural Diversity and Local Content and was Middle East Excellence Awards Institute and the 26th Middle East Smart Government Award for the ICT sector.
